Mark Crissinger Band

Mark’s band is a contemporary blues band featuring an all-star cast of musicians from the Nanaimo area. Their multiple performances at blues festivals in Nanaimo, Victoria, Chemainus, Parksville, Duncan, as well as pubs and clubs and private parties, have gained them friends and fans across Vancouver Island, the lower mainland, and beyond.
When Mark plays in Ontario or Quebec he employs A-list musicians that have played with him many times before.

Blending traditional themes with clever lyrics and modern arrangements, the band combines different styles to give their show plenty of variety. You will hear some Boogie Woogie, Funk, Rock, Shuffle and Swing. Dancing, singing, clapping, and laughing are all encouraged.

The Mark Crissinger Band ignites audiences every time they play. When you combine fresh ideas, excellent musicianship, and audience participation the result is a good time for everyone.

Music from his albums and live shows, plus videos can all be found on this website.

FESTIVAL/SHOWCASE SHOW:

The focus at these performances is Mark’s original music. Blending traditional themes with clever lyrics and modern arrangements, the band combines different styles to give their show plenty of variety. Boogie Woogie, Funk, Rock, Shuffle and Swing. The band has a lot of experience in this environment and knows the job is to get the crowd going. Dancing, singing, clapping, and laughing are all encouraged.

PUBS & PARTIES:

We’ve played hundreds of these! Mark will have a quick chat with the employer to ascertain what kind of show they’d like to have. The band has a great list of classic blues and rocknroll covers. What usually happens is a healthy mix of originals and cover songs. Staging, sound quality, and volume are details we pay lots of attention to. Keeping an eye on the audience and giving them what they want is a very important part of the performance.

Known for his strong promotional work ethic, Mark goes way beyond the usual efforts to promote any pub, club, or festival he works with. In this day of age, we all need to work together to maintain an interest in participating with live music events. Especially within the blues and roots community.
